Adam first started DJing properly when he put on a one off night called Homegrown in his home town of Northwich back in July 2000. The night was run alongside two of his friends (both DJs) Tom Golden & Nathan Landry. Shortly after the night they were contacted by Levi’s and Mixmag to play alongside Tom Stephan on the ‘Levis Student House Party Tour’, which took in Leeds, Newcastle and Sankeys Soap in Manchester.

In 2002 Adam and the other two lads set up www.homegrown-music.com as a base to promote themselves as DJs. The site has grown immensely over three years and is know internationally for its ‘Homegrown Hotmix’ concept in which two guest DJs per month supply mixes for people to stream and download, previous guests have included Jazzanova, Miss Kitten, Mylo, Tom Stephan, Justin Martin, Natural Rhythm, Mazi, Tony Thomas and many more underground DJs. Alongside the two guest mixes the residents (Adam, Tom, Nathan & new addition Woody) each take it in turns for two of them to do a mix every other month. In the 3 years in has been running the site has received over 7 million hits. The website also features an extensive back catalogue of mixes to stream, archived radio shows, photo galleries, video, monthly record reviews, forthcoming dates and a busy message board. A new feature on the site that started in 2005 was the Homegrown Radio Show (presented by Adam & Tom), which airs weekly on Sundays and Thursdays on www.pulseradio.net.

Djing wise Adam has played at many of the UK’s best clubs including Sankeys Soap, Turnmills, The Bomb, and The Music Box, and has supported some of the best underground DJs in the world today such as Tom Stephan, Audio Bullys, Paul Woolford, James Zabeila, DJ Heather, Jacob London, Nic Fanciulli & Greg Vickers. Over the last couple of years Adam and the other lads have worked hard at getting the Homegrown name known and this has shown in the amount of gigs and places they have travelled to and played at, with the parties getting better and better each time. The past year or so Adam has also ventured out to Europe on various occasions for some very memorable parties and festivals, the highlights of which were playing at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in Croatia (on top of a fort!), the Zagreb Film Festival both in 2004 and 2005 (spinning to over 1500 people), playing at the awesome Cova Den Xoroi in Menorca (set in a cliff top cave) and doing a small tour of Belgium in August 2005. Add to this Adam picking up IDJ magazines Top Tape award and Muzik Magazines highly acclaimed ‘Bedroom Bedlam’ award, this kid has achieved a lot in his seven years of djing.

Studio wise Adam has been working hard for the past 4 years producing forward thinking house music. His first EP was released in the summer of 2005 on UK label Lost My Dog records and received excellent reviews from DJ & I-DJ magazine as well as making it into the boxes of DJs such as DJ Heather, Joey Youngman, Jay Tripwire, Tyler Stadius and Jimpster to name a few. A second EP (Honey I’ve Lost My Panties EP, written alongside Tom Golden) quickly followed on Southside Shuffle recordings and this is what I-DJ had to say about it:

“I’ve lapped up everything these guys have released in their short career. These four trippy little buggers are evidence there is more yet to come. From the jazzy, bendy “VR Nightz” to the twisted tech-ery of “Light Em Up”, it’s like a Midlands house version of MFF. Excellent stuff” – Jez Torrance I-DJ Mag.

At the early age of five, he developed his love for music and began honing his skills through singing and playing the drums in church. After years of practicing he went on to set up a personal home recording studio in Columbia Missouri where he designs his promotional material and writes and records his latest hits.

The summer of 2006, Brendan tried out for the Missouri Idol contest where hopefuls from around the state of Missouri compete for the title of “Missouri Idol.” He sailed through the competition and won the title with the song, “This Woman’s Work,” by Maxwell. Soon after, he decided to take his talents to the next level and compete in the American Idol competition. He auditioned in Memphis Tennessee with 18,000 hopefuls and made it through to Hollywood with only 15 others out of Memphis. When asked how he felt about making it to Hollywood he adds,”Making it to Hollywood was a huge accomplishment for me because they only choose 60 guys out of the whole nation.” Brendan made the cut from 60 down to 30, but he was eliminated in the second round during the group portion of the show. He claims that he made wonderful relationships during his experience on American Idol and regrets nothing.

Aren B has opend up for Tyrese, H-Town, Silk and has had performances in various locations across the U.S. from Miami to Los Angeles. Along with onstage presence, and his commanding style he delivers strong and silky smooth vocals that the ladies love. “I’ve been inspired by several life experiences, but mostly my imagination has inspired me to write on different topics and situations,” states `Aren B. He credits his inspiration to: God, Mother, Michael Jackson, Al B. Sure, Maxwell and Color Me Bad who he claims have similar falsetto sytles to himself

His long-time relationship with the like-minded Q-Burns Abstract Message continues to renew his creative energies. Their monthly “Club Queso” event is known as one of Orlando and New York’s most notorious (and intoxicated) nights of four-on-the-floor debauchery. Things do tend to get pretty crazy there and costumes are usually warranted. Atnarko also co-owns EIGHT-TRACKS, a vinyl based label dedicated to releasing conceptual house music with a post-modernist – read: subversive – slant.

Burnski is a young wipper snapper, born 1986 in a small industrial town in the chilly depths of North East England. Emerging from a seaside town renowned for smog & fish shops, he prefers to spend his time locked away in his little studio experimenting with his sounds. His musical career began at the age of 13 when, skipping his Science exam one afternoon, his Dad drove him out of town to pick up a pair of second hand turntables he had found advertised in the paper. For the next few years he would travel an hour each way on the bus every Saturday morning into the main town, armed with his paper round money, to feed his vinyl addiction.

When he isn’t in the studio, he is either playing records, on his piano, or lighting fires. Influences in James’ music stem from a very broad palette. Playing piano over the years, he carries a very large interest in all forms of composition. James has now found his way musically with his sound representing a wide variation that crosses several electronic borders. An intelligent DJ, he plays a little bit of everything from jazz to trip hop, disco, electro, dub, house, minimal and techno, always adjusting his sound for the night in question, always armed with a bag of fresh music, healthy for any hour of the night. With regular appearances at Back to Basics in Leeds and other gigs including Watergate Berlin, The Key, The Egg, TDK Festival & Sankeys Soap. James’ productions are currently providing a fitting representation of quality on offer amongst the nubreed of English producers today.

With original music out on Trapez, Morris Audio, Infant Records and Exquisite Music and remix work for 2020 Vision and Lost My Dog, not to mention the small matter of a album in the works for 2020 Vision, Burnski is on his way, offering his own interpretation to the music scene.

His DJ’ing has taken him around the world to places such as Belgrade , Spain , USA , Malaysia , Prague , Slovakia , Amsterdam , and not forgetting up and down the UK . Ranging from club backrooms & bars, to clubs with a capacity of over 1000 people and then of course there’s playing in the middle of a field in the Midland ‘s countryside to free party goers!!!
