Dan Sudron
With seven years under his belt and still only in his early 20's, it’s fair to say that Dan is still very much a fresh and exciting young talent in the music world. Harbouring a true love for music, his appreciation of a wide range of genres has developed into an open-minded style with a focus on underground house. As a result, Dan is proving to be a very versatile DJ. Dan held a long term residency with Strakes at clubnight Kahua in the Midlands, an event which cemented the pair's friendship and laid the foundations for the Kahua Music record store and music shop. Dan is a native of Teesside and prior to returning home to set up the Kahua shop he founded and promoted 'Tree Soul', not to mention being part of the team behind 'We Are Special' - both very popular clubnights in the region. This has enabled him to rub shoulders with rising DJs and producers as well as gaining the opportunity to play in a large number of different venues, most notably on the same bill as Roger Sanchez at Middlesbrough's 'Empire' and Paul van Dyk for superclub night GoodGreef.
Dan's true love is for small intimate venues and this support for the underground is reflected in his preferred style of music. To this end, Dan currently holds a monthly residency at Middlesbrough's amazing Purple Onion nightclub, where he hosts the Kahua Music room along with Strakes. Describing this style as “deep, jacking, tech, with maybe a splash of funk”, it seems that anything goes depending on his mood, a quality often lost on many of today's young DJs.
With the promise of a lifetime's devotion to House music and vinyl, it is expected that the name Dan Sudron will be heard much much more in coming years.
Aside from music Dan is keen on "man-stuff" especially if it's big!! We're talking mega-structures here - bridges, dams and massive ships!!
