Nathan Coles is one of the worlds most accomplished, hedonistic and uncompromising underground DJs.  In a career spanning 15 years and 4 Continents, Nathan has rocked the international club scene with his inimitable style and unforgettable personality.  Co-founder of the legendary Wiggle parties, he plays at the Wiggle night at Fabric alongside long time partner and friend Terry Francis.  He is a prolific producer, remixer and writer, releasing hundreds of tracks on labels as diverse as Funk'd, Plastic City, Wrong, Wiggle and The End.

David Coker is a workaholic producer, remixer and musician who has worked all around the world from Ibiza to Shanghai.   He was a founder member of Wubble-U in the mid nineties, whose anthem "Petal" reached the top 5 of the UK dance chart.  His many pseudonyms include Pigbwoy, Smart Alex, Pramface, Housey Doingz, Doodlebug and Coke, Stoned & Baileys to name a few.  In the studio he has worked for Bryan Ferry, All Saints, Billie Ray Martin, Bran Van 3000, Dub Pistols and many more as a producer and remixer.  His most recent band Futon is a highly successful electro/rock band in South East Asia and Japan, and Dave is currently working on a new studio in his house in Ibiza. He and Nathan Coles have been friends and creative collaborators for 15 years, joining forces on various projects including Housey Doingz, Get Fucked, Coles and Coker, Smart Alex.

Both of the original tracks stay close to the London tech-house sound that Nathan Coles has become famous for alongside fellow Fabric resident Terry Francis.  It’s very rare that artists carve out a niche of their very own, but Coles & Coker have certainly done that over the past decade.

On ‘Love Terrorist’ a punching and slightly moody intro paves the way for a devastatingly low throbbing bass and a lead hook more addictive than nicotine. Quirky vocal stabs and rapid percussion again create the classic Wiggle feel, whilst the track flips and twists faster than Maverick dogfighting with a MiG.  ‘Sweat Bomb’ has the typical heads down, yet uplifting funky feel; a driving beat and bassline are complemented by squelches and squarks and an infectious vocal that rolls right through the track.

Lost My Dog bosses Strakes & Pete Dafeet step up for remix duties on ‘Sweat Bomb’ following well received remixes of Jay Tripwire and Richie Robinson on previous LMD releases.  The canine crusaders’ take on a skippier feel, with bumpy beats and a Greenskeepers-esque bassline that blossom whilst evil analogue leads draw on the squelchy undertones of the original.  The track maintains a strong groove throughout, whilst subtle pads add variation and flavour.  Think London meets Chicago via New York with a dash of Middlesbrough thrown in!!

Magazine Reviews

iDJ Magazine (4/5)... ‘Love Terrorist’ sees Coles and Coker deliver a pounding slab of jacking house tips a wee nod to the electronic styles that are in abundance right now.  A slight change of style for LMD (besides that cracking Harold Heath EP a while back), but it works a treat.  Bleepy, trippy bit full of energetic house charm, this will work for all discerning house DJs whether your style is energetic or organic.  ‘Sweat Bomb’ is more a squelchy, full fat affair with Strakes and Dafeet turning in a deeper, dubbed out rub.  Yet another LMD delight for the collection.

iDJ Magazine (4/5)... I’d rather not know where they got the name Love Sludge from but tune-wise it’s a typically UK slice of deep tech house: bottom-heavy, heads-down, wiggling funk.  The grinding ‘Sweat Bomb’ (surprise, surprise) is the sound of a sweaty basement at 2am.  Strakes & Dafeet take it into classic deep house territory.
