Lost My Dog celebrate their third birthday with their twentieth release, having built up a great reputation in underground house circles.  Refusing to be pigeon-holed into any specific sub genre of house music, Lost My Dog releases range from deep house grooves, through Chicago influenced jackers, to acid and tech house floor rockers. Each release is aimed at pushing the label forward into new territory, releasing new sounds while always maintaining a high level of quality control.  As such they’ve become one of those labels that DJs will always listen to, but never know exactly what’s in store.  As the label continues to go from strength to strength only one problem appears to still exist; finding the damn dog!

LMD020 is by Glaswegian Dominic Martin and follows straight on from the last Lost My Dog EP, ‘Jazzmag’, which was also produced by Dominic, alongside fellow Scot Chris Harris.  Dominic Martin has been DJing for over 12 years and in that time has played alongside some of the industry’s top spinners.  On the studio front, Dom produces under 2 monikers: Dominic Martin and Domsko. As Dominic Martin his tracks reflect the influences of black soulful music, jazzy US, deep and funky house, while the Domsko tracks showcase his harder, electronic white-boy leanings.  2007 was a breakthrough year for Dom, signing solo tracks to prestigious labels including Kingdom Kome, Tronicsole and SECND while collaborations with Chris Harris appeared on Nordic Trax nad Guesthouse.

The first of two remixes comes from Milton Jackson, another Glaswegian, and friend of Dominic Martin.  We were more than happy down here at the dog pound when he offered to remix his mate’s track.  Milton has long since been a recognised and respected name in the dance music community.  Several releases for Tronicsole, Glasgow Underground and his own Bear Trax in the early 2000’s built up a strong following before higher-profile releases throughout 2006 and 2007 on labels including Freerange, Silver Network and Urbantorque cemented his place as one of the finest house producers around right now.  Known for his dark, almost techno influenced deep house music, Milton Jackson tends to fuse straight driving beats with eclectic, techy production styles.

The second remix is from Lost My Dog’s own Pete Dafeet. Pete's reputation as an artist continues to rise thanks to recent releases on Robsoul, Detour, Heatunes and his own Southside Shuffle and Lost My Dog.  Since his first musical output under four years ago the highlights of his discography are remixing the likes of Blakkat, Tony Thomas and No Assembly Firm and having his own productions reworked by several of his biggest influences - Demarkus Lewis, Inland Knights, Fred Everything and Jay Tripwire.
