Matt's love for dance music was ignited in the late 1990s upon, as a young teenager, hearing tracks by Fatboy Slim, Basement Jaxx & the Chemical Brothers; a keen developing interest in electronic music led to him catching the DJ bug at 16 and Matt soon found his niche with House music, spending every last penny on funky and tech house records by producers such as DJ Sneak & Bushwacka, artists who would be key to shaping his sound over the coming years.
Slowly Matt was discovering his preferred style of house music, and it all came together after witnessing what he only be describes as the best set of his life courtesy of Chicago legend Derrick Carter; tough basslines, jackin' beats and infectious hooky melodies.
Being a bit of a gadget junkie Matt then bought a sampler in an attempt to push his DJ sets further, and upon much experimentation discovered that he could create whole tracks with its step sequencer, leading him into the exciting world of music production.
After a string of unfinished productions Matt completed his first track "Run For Cover" late in 2003, a track centred on a simple idea and a solid groove which was picked up for release by digital label "Southside Shuffle". Matt's first vinyl release is the "All This All That E.P" on Lost My Dog and sees the continuation of his aim to create a collection of tracks you probably wouldn't normally find altogether on the same E.P. funky deep tech and acid house influences are all in there. From the driving "Sonic Signal", through the quirky bumpy "Dubtool" to the lush deep house sounds of "Shiftin'" and "I Gotta Use It" Matt's EP demonstrates his talent to produce a varied range to top notch house music.
Matt is continuing to push himself and develop original sounds aimed at the dance floor be it laid back warm up material or jacked up floor fillers
