LMD involved in new UK short film

Lost My Dog is spreading its wings further with an involvement in a forthcoming short film ‘The Pick Up’. The film is soon to begin casting and applications are currently being accepted for a number of roles including clubbers, a DJ and bartenders. The film, which will also feature music from the Lost My Dog Records catalogue, will be distributed to 60 film festivals across the globe in the 18 months following completion.

‘The Pick Up’ has been written and will be directed by Aml Ameen, who is best known for his lead role in KiDULTHOOD and two years on The Bill. He is currently shooting his first Hollywood role in a film called ‘Red Tails’ by George Lucas (Star Wars) where he will perform alongside Cuba Gooding Jr, Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo and Method Man. Already cast in ‘The Pick Up’ are Najan Ward, co-owner of Lost My Dog, who has recently finished filming for ‘Home Time’, a new BBC2 comedy from the production company responsible for ‘Gavin & Stacey’ and Jason Maza, who has just finished filming ‘Shifty’ performing alongside Jason Fleming and Daniel Mays.

‘The Pick Up’ is set in an underground house club and is based around two young men trying to pick up two attractive female clubbers. The film will capture the look, feel and atmosphere of a leading London club such as Fabric, Matter or Ministry of Sound.

The parts currently being cast are:
- Two attractive female leads, both university students in London in the age range 19-23. They are regular clubbers on the London scene and attend most of the dance music festivals in the summer.
- A male or female DJ aged 18-30 who can play with flair. The DJ will be playing a set in an underground club in London.
- Two male or female bartenders aged 20-35 who can effortlessly make cocktails with flamboyant style.

All applicants can be from any ethnic background. Auditions will be held in London, Birmingham and Manchester in July & August. Further information and detailed application instructions can be obtained by contacting [email protected]
