Hailing from a market town in Berkshire, Lost My Dog co founder Pete Dafeet took to the decks as a teenager in the late 90s, sucked into house music by chart acts like Cassius, Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx.
Moving to the East Midlands town of Loughborough for University opened up a world of musical variation to the young Dafeet, but over the course of his 3 year stay his tastes became firmly rooted in the underground sounds of deep house; spinning at Strakes' Kahua parties and becoming a regular at Nags Modwadhia's 'In The Groove' record shop.
After dislocating his knee in 2003 Pete put his time in a cast to good use learning the basics of a computer sequencer and the resultant 3 tracker received plays from many a house jock; Yousef, Lottie and Jason Hodges were all fans of his debut EP, released on Foot Fetish in April 2004.
Since then Pete's stock in the house world has risen, thanks to releases on Uniform, Bosh and his own Lost My Dog imprint, remixing the likes of Blakkat, Tony Thomas and No Assembly Firm along the way, and himself being remixed by several of his leading influences (Jay Tripwire, Demarkus Lewis and Inland Knights).
Starting a label was a natural progression, and in 2004 Nags, Strakes and Pete set up Lost My Dog. On a mission to release quality deep house music, Lost My Dog has given Pete a release valve for his production work, and also an opportunity to work with, and release music from, many of his favourite producers. The Lost My Dog brand is on the rise, picking up plays and support from leading tastemakers like Groove Armada, DJ Heather and Lawnchair Generals as well as strong media support. The threesome have also embarked on a quest to bring global house acts to Loughborough; so far bringing James Curd, Da Sunlounge and Diz to the Leicestershire metropolis.
