Vernon Bara and Massimo DaCosta are a fresh new breeze in the deep house scene. Their musical influences are wide and varied in both time and space, the guys say “no frontiers, no rules, only good taste and pleasures! Their mix of hi-tech computer knowledge and ingrained musical culture results in a house sound that can be described as soulful, deep, techy and funky all at the same time.
Their collaboration started in 2001 under on Belgium's Foreplay Recordings, a label based in their home region, with a remix of Hideo Kobayashi's "Possibility of love" EP which also contained remixes by Osunlade and Lars van Berenroth. The result consisted on a deeply imaginative smooth track and turned many discerning heads.
This first release has since been followed up of recent years by EPs and remixes on the most respected house labels such as Robsoul, Icon, So Sound, Uni.form, Sensei, Séparé, Tom Bone, Flygaric Tracks, Phono Graffiti and Flat & Round. T heir productions are enthusiastically received, earning praise from dancers, journalists and DJs like Laurent Garnier, Jef K, Raoul (Swirl People), Mazi, David Duriez, Phil Weeks, DJ Sneak, Kenny Hawkes and Olivier Desmet.
The duo are also involved in DJing and promoting parties. Since 2004 Massimo has was proud to join Raoul (Swirl People) and Geoffroy (Hi-Phen) as the newest weekly resident DJ at Belgian finest house night “Food”. He's also involved in a monthly residency at the top underground “Touché” parties. Prior to this Massimo was resident for 3 years at Pure/Sub club, one of the most respected club in Belgium. Over his residencies he's been joined on the decks by the finest international guest DJs including Osunlade, Jason Hodges, DJ Deep, Jef K, Kenny Hawkes, Gregory, Alex Gopher, Llorca, Charles Schillings and Chateau Flight. Vernon likes to point that his set are more eclectic in nature chopping up 70's disco with the latest "undiscovered" house track to great effect.
